These are delicious and require zero work. They are a perfect finger food and balance that savory and sweet thing really well. Looks very impressive on the table and takes all of five minutes to prepare. Don’t skip this recipe.

Yield: 24 pieces

Rating: Easiest things ever. Don’t tell anyone.

Ingredients:

12 fresh figs (I prefer black mission figs. You know they are good when they are soft but not too mushy.)

2 ounces goat cheese

1 tablespoon honey

¼ teaspoon of salt (I use fancy salt like pink salt or sea salt)

Directions:

When your figs are washed and dried, slice them lengthwise down the middle. Slice a small piece off the outside skin of each half.  We do this so the fig can lie down on the plate, flesh side up, without rolling over.  Arrange on a serving plate.

Slice thin pieces of goat cheese and place one slice on each fig. Drizzle with the honey and sprinkle with salt. Done.

Plan ahead:

You can cut the figs and slice the cheese 1 day before serving.
