Garlic broccoli

Rating: Easy to make and so flavorful.  A perfect side dish.

Prep Time: 3 minutes

Cook Time: 18-20 minutes

Ingredients:

2 heads broccoli, cut small (stems disregarded)

3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

1 teaspoon kosher salt

¼ teaspoon of black pepper

4 cloves garlic, chopped (or 4 cubes frozen garlic)

¼ cup white wine (something dry – sauvignon blanc or chardonnay)

Directions:

Take your clean broccoli and place it in a large sauté pan over medium heat.  Add the olive oil, salt and pepper.  Mix well.  Add your garlic and mix again.  Leave the broccoli to sauté over the medium heat for 14 minutes, mixing occasionally.  Raise the heat under the sauté pan all the way up so it is a very hot.  Allow the pan to heat for 30 seconds.  Add your wine.  The goal is to hear a sizzle.  Allow the broccoli to cook another 30 seconds at this high heat and then lower the flame back to medium for another 4 minutes.

Plan Ahead:

You can make this up to one day before serving.  To re-warm, set your oven to 250 degrees and place the broccoli in uncovered for 25 minutes.
